Start the project "Smart City", led by Cartif, with the signing of the cities of Valladolid and Palencia

The mayors of both cities signed the agreement this mornig smartcityThis project will enable the cities they represent progress in sustainable mobility, transportation and traffic management and energy saving in public buildings and urban centers.

The agreement also aims to encourage CO2 reduction, improve lines of communication, new technologies, knowledge networks and civic participation.

In addition to the mayors, in the act to be held in the municipality of Valladolid, will be the CEO of Cartif, José R. Perán, and representatives of Acciona, Iberdrola, Telefonica R + D, GMV and Grupo Lince, in addition to the regional EREN, through which the Junta de Castilla y León supports the project.

With this initiative, Valladolid and Palencia will be among the 25 European cities that lead the transition to an economy dependent on fossil fuels. In order to secure this new concept of city, theCartif's team proposes that measures to accelerate the implementation of low cost technologies to reduce CO2 emissions dramatically. Wind and solar, electrical systems, bioenergy, carbon capture and storage of CO2 and nuclear fission will be developed in the fields of mobility, energy and civic life.
